Joint Motion

Joints are meant to move. We developed a wearable sensor system worn above and below the knee during a timed up and go test to quickly assess patient function in clinic. Our research found that we could apply machine learning to predict future outcomes after surgery using this sensor data. We are currently running a randomized trial to test whether providing these predictions improves satisfaction after knee replacement surgery. We also conduct studies using our RSA system to measure motion implanted components and compare between different implant designs and surgical techniques.
